It’s figs season in Tuscany. I love eating figs for breakfast, lunch, dinner and all the moments between meals. I love figs with pecorino and honey, or just on its own. I found a recipe on the web for a fig tart with riesling custard. Instead of making my own crust, I used a store bought sweet pastry crust so that I can spend the rest of my time making Baby Boy’s zucca puree. Yep..Baby Boy started his prima pappa just before his 7 month birthday. So far he’s favorite pappa is a puree of prugne and peas. Anyway, back to the figs. The tart turned out pretty good, eventhough parts of the crust got a bit burnt.
I must remind myself to take pictures before actually finishing off the food.
Best served with mascarpone.
